Artist statement

My statement is not an easy one, because in the art I am looking for different ways and very often changing the rules. Basicly, I am a painter and therefore I am looking for all the possibilities in this medium. Follows a text about randomnes, which is very important for me:

Randomness, an error as the phenomenon of discovery and search for questions

Certainly, a hanging picture is a commonly questioned medium. A topic, that is endlessly talked about. Anachronism. Indeed. Yet in the world of Ones and Zeros, the virtual art classical techniques are a priceless way of how to touch randomness, how to reach errors. For they enable to transform the actual feelings and moods of an artist and as such, unwittingly project them into the emerging painting. Therefore these errors are the elementary mover. A rational, digital approach can hardly achieve something similar. Such an approach is limiting by its nature, by the perfection of the basic programme, which, despite being constantly improved and utilizing generation of randomness. Randomness, that has still been based on several possible ways of calculation. Thus the extrasensory randomness is much farther and differently adjusted in each artist. It reflects his knowledge, abilities, where and what he lives. That is a very important constellation, because this is the way to achieve next possible levels, not only in visual art but in other areas too. Painting. A rational attitude can really have a killer effect. Advance planning. Thinking about the topic. Excessive preparation. All this can, at the end of the day, give a rise to something that is rather over calculated. Overdone, explicit. One can say, without the need to ask. Looking at a piece of work and supposing that we understand it. The motive of painting, and other creations, is not to give answers but to raise questions, to make uncertainties. To rouse. For only a question or a doubt can move the world forward. One can’t expect the same of answers. An answer sums up, evaluates. A question is an impulse. We should appreciate the fact that if we do not know the answer to something we can search. The world is full of questions. When we take a closer look, a suggestion could be that a good answer is the one which brings other questions along. It can perhaps remind of blossoming or spreading of a tree. Certainly, it will all pass. Every path ends somewhere. Nevertheless, this statement can’t be taken as definite because it is only about a temporary cessation, a frozen motion that can get moving again by a new look at what has already been answered and bring some doubts about the previous answers. It is a cycle. A certain form of boiling, swelling, expanding mass. It can hardly be a motionless form. Perhaps at first sight. Something like sedimented mud. That is just mud by its essence. Nothing happens, it only is and that is it. Nonetheless, isn’t it just a first impression, an illusion of inactivity? For what is inside? Nothing? Really? One can hardly believe that. There might be something and there might be a lot. One must seek. Only he who seeks, will be able to find something. Hence, seek and look. There will be something there and it may reveal itself to you. It would be foolish though, to seek something particular, what you want to find, since it gives a rise to an unwanted limit which conceals the core of the entire quest. Yes, there are parallels here, it is very general and applicable to virtually anything. But is it wrong? In my opinion not, because the general form asks for an application to anything. In principle alone, it is useless to restrict something. Surely some restriction is beneficial but a categorical one can be limiting and preventing randomness. It is always pleasant to come across something by chance, to find out something, to move on somewhere. To experiment, not to be afraid. As a matter of fact, this is the condition on which I try to build my paintings. White canvas. Non-existence of sketch, plan, clearly defined theme. Just have a light idea. A conception of a form by which I want to arrive at something, something that is unknown to me. A form I can slide on and let it lead me. To receive impulses as I go, process them. To expand limit conditions. To assemble and layer. To react. Move lightly on the painting surface. Gently stroke and balance. Let the painting live and grow. Only a slight help in arising creation. Simply to behave like an artist not like a moron. To appreciate my work and to regard it with awe. Make an effort to apply various forms of expression. Not to be limited by one approach only, but to expand the possibilities across. Let the mutual influences flow free. To work wholly, to have a broad horizon and not to be afraid of jumping from one to another. Application of multitasking, doing visual DJ’ing and generally having an object oriented approach. There try to avoid the particular plan and overdefined combination. Stick to randomness. Elaborate the error and hence uncover the unexplored spheres of mind, moods and states. To look into myself and try to discover the reason for me and for painting as such.
